AN aspirant for the Federal House of Representatives in the forthcoming elections, Mr. Ayo Abimbola, has promised to represent his people adequately in the National Assembly.

The aspirant, who is seeking to represent Remo Federal Constituency, also promised to be their voice on local and national issues through effective legislation, if elected. He is contesting the seat on the platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).

"As the message of my official campaign poster indicates, I seek and intend to be that strong and powerful voice for all of Remo. Hence, the poster is entitled “Ayo ni o, dede Remo”, meaning “Happiness for all Remo indigines." he said.

Abimbola took a swipe at the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying it has failed to deliver the dividends of democracy to Nigerians despite its political dominance for the past 12 years.

His words: "From the West to the East, and from the South to the North, what the good people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria have experienced in the last three decades, and especially in the last 12 years under the PDP-led federal and state governments, have been terrible social degradation and unspeakable dehumanisation of the citizenry who have repeatedly witnessed a sad trend of social and economic underdevelopment."
